SPECIAL CONCERT TO WELCOME REFUGEE SETTLEMENT IN NZ
60 million people in the world have no place to call home.
4.5 million of them are Syrians
Imagine if every New Zealander was forced to flee our country.
Kiwis On Board and Diva the Agency are thrilled to welcome the first of 650 Syrian refugees to arrive on our shores in 2016, with an amazing line-up of New Zealand artists performing at Auckland’s Silo Park.
Featuring live performances from Neil Finn, the Topp Twins, Hopetoun Brown, Thomas Oliver, the Jubilation Choir and more to be announced, this will be an evening to remember. For many refugees this will be the first time they’ve felt safe in a long long time. So come and join the Warmest Kiwi Welcome Ever!
Bring blankets, banners and a picnic to Silo park at 5pm on January 23rd. The concert will finish at 8pm.
$20 Koha is requested which can be paid in cash on the day or via a special Give A Little page created to support the re-settlement of these refugees www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/kiwisonboard
Silo Park is the perfect waterfront location for this special occasion. With regular community activity in the area, it is a public place where stories come together, where people share, socialise, or just sit and be. Silo Park’s weekly markets will be open from midday, with street food and cold drinks pouring from the Silo Park bar.
ALL proceeds raised will go to NZ RED CROSS.

The programme has just been announced for next year’s A Summer’s Tale festival in Germany. Neil Finn will be playing at the festival of art and music live in the green, held in Lumühlen, August 10th-13th 2016.
Sigur Rós, Glen Hansard, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Heather Nova and many others will also be there. Tickets are on sale now though please note their website may be overloaded at times due to high demand.

Neil , Nick, Mark and Matt send their love and best thoughts to the family and friends of Nick Alexander RIP who toured with Crowded House through Europe in 2007 . We played this song every night on that tour .

Dear friends,
You have probably been wondering what has been going on with our book. Well, here is an update! But please bear in mind that this really is a labour of love, and that we all have families and full-time jobs to take care of. At the moment, we are going through our first selection round, which we hope to have finished by the end of the year. But we are pretty sure that a few more rounds will have to follow, because of the variety of the stories and of the subjects of the stories. We are also working on copyright issues that may arise from using Neil’s lyrics and song titles. But , as we said, we are definitely working on it, and we aim to contact each of you before the end of the year. Some stories are absolutely great as they are, but we also have to follow up on quite a number of them. Either way, we will let you know. Talk later!
