“These demos were done before we found a bass player and we had Nick and Bones and a couple of other people come and play on the demos by way of audition, which was actually quite a novel and good way to do it. And the thing that’s notable from my mind is that Nick performed very well on Paul’s song, ‘That’s What I Call Love’, and that was kind of the clincher really. He actually had a funky bassline. Sharon loved it and that was when he got the job.”
