The Luton tapes have always been my favourite Enz recordings… in 1978, Tim was coming into his stride as a songwriter, and we were all excited at the prospect of recording a new album [Frenzy]. The result was a fresh, energetic and inspiring bunch of demos that we all grew to love.

We recorded and mixed around 26 songs over 3 or 4 days, using an old 8-track tape machine at Quest Studios in Luton, Hertfordshire, UK. We were all playing in one small, square, acoustically-dead room. I drank Drambuie all day... go figure. Noel played his percussion in the toilet...
